About Us
Karen Peterson has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Learning Disabilities.She is a 2010 Class member of the National Staff Development Academy.Karen has experience teaching students in grades K – 6 as a classroom teacher, learning disability specialist, librarian, and a school technology coordinator. Her district level service in Cherry Creek Schools included being a K – 12 Coordinator of Professional Learning. In that position, she coordinated a 21st Century Educator Certificate program for professional development opportunities for K – 12 teachers; has coordinated and supervised teachers participating in a District “Computers 4 Teachers” program and has coached District Instructional Coaches.Karen has worked with the Morgridge Family Foundation grant recipients to provide professional development opportunities to support their learning with SMART technologies. She has presented sessions at a variety of state technology conferences and has presented sessions at the NSDC national conferences.Karen is co-Director of the Center for 21st Century Classrooms.
Ann Zimmer has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Computer Technology. Ann has experience as a classroom teacher in grades K - 5 and has also served as an interventionist, reading specialist, technology specialist, and librarian. Her initial work in the area of professional development was with the PEBC (Public Education and Business Coalition) as a classroom trainer. She has also servedboth as an Instructional Technology Coach and an Instructional Support Coach in a number of schools. At the district level in Cherry Creek Schools, Ann has taught various curriculum integration classes. She has worked with the Morgridge Family Foundation grant recipients and many additional classroom teachers to provide professional development opportunities to support their learning with SMART technologies. Ann is a 2010 Class member of the National Staff Development Academy and was the recipient of the Morgridge Family Foundation 21st Century Star Educator Award in 2009. Ann is co-Director of the Center for 21st Century Classrooms.
